Louis Blouwe will start his season on 23 January at the Tropicale Amissa Bongo in Gabon (23-29/01). Our young rider is entering his second season in the pro group. Louis finished the 2022 season with a mixed feeling. He intends to turn a corner in 2023 and the very successful winter preparation period opens up some great prospects  for the new serason.

« I want to gain confidence, which I often lacked in 2022 ».

Louis Blouwe: « I didn’t come out of my 2022 season satisfied. I was injured at the beginning of the campaign and then suffered from allergies. My spring was therefore not as good as I wanted. I did a training camp in July, but maybe I trained too much and the results didn’t follow. I must avoid making this kind of ‘beginner’ mistake from now on. My winter has been different this year, I worked less on quantity but more on quality, under the guidance of our performance manager, Jon Wiggins. I think this will pay off. I will start the season very early, at the Tropicale Amissa Bongo. We will be there with a strong team, with Lennert Teugels and Alexis Guérin for the hard stages and Alexander Salby and Karl-Patrick Lauk for the sprints. I am sure we will do very well, the goal is to win. After Gabon, I will was going to the Tour de Provence, which has been cancelled. My programme is gonna change before entering the Belgian classics with, among others, Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne, the GP Criquielion, the Nokere Koerse. I will take every opportunity to try to get some results, especially in the Flemish races with small climbs. I will also help my leaders. Above all I want to gain confidence quickly, which I often lacked last year. The Tropicale must give me confidence. »
